Luz Henriques

Nasceu na Madeira na cidade de Câmara de Lobos em 1958.

Estudou Artes Visuais e Aplicadas e complementou a sua formação ao longo do seu percurso artístico. Tem o Bacharelato em Educação Visual e Tecnológica e é professora da mesma disciplina desde 1977. Apresentou várias exposições individuais desde 1993 realçando a apresentação de grande tapeçarias tridimensionais, painéis em azulejo pintados à mão, pinturas a óleo e acrílicos sobre tela em grandes formatos. Está representada em vários lugares públicos e colecções particulares. Nas diversas exposições colectivas salientou-se a sua representação na Câmara Municipal do Bairro de Viena de Áustria, sala Damião Góis, Embaixada de Portugal em Bruxelas, Governo Regional da Comunidade Germânica, Serviço de Relação Internacional. Participou activamente em actividades de solidariedade social doando obras suas e organizando leilões a fim de angariar fundos para várias instituições como Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro e Pessoas Portadoras de HIV, Associação Presença Feminina (O.N.G.) e Rotary Clube Portugal. No campo internacional há a destacar três países (Itália, Bélgica e Viena de Áustria). Saliento a exposição integrada no projecto de intercâmbio cultural entre a Região Autónoma da Madeira e a Região Germanófila da Bélgica. Bem como a exposição realizada em Burgenland – Viena de Áustria, integrada no projecto “Contact”, intercâmbio cultural entre as duas regiões europeias “Viena de Áustria e Madeira”. Ainda em Viena de Áustria é de referenciar a exposição em Parndorf, Burgenland, Dorfhalle, apresentando obras de grande formato, em acrílico sobre tela. Recentemente, participou na Bienal Internacional de Malta, tendo recebido um certificado de distinção especial em pintura. Exposição de azulejaria intitulada "Maria-Mar" desenvolvida com grande vertente social e de pesquisa, e apresentada na Casa da Cultura de Câmara de Lobos de 16 Outubro a 16 de Novembro de 2005. Apresentou recentemente nova mostra intitulada "Porto Seguro" no Hotel Tivoli Ocean Park em Janeiro de 2006. Foi distinguida com o premio de merito na categoria de artes plasticas na 2ª Gala Diario de Noticias- R.T.M em 2006.

Born in 1958, Câmara de Lobos, Madeira.

Studied Applied Visual Arts and further complemented her Curriculum throughout her artistic itinerary. Acquired the Arts Bachelor (Visual and technological Education) and is a teacher from the same subject ever since 1977. Presented several individual exhibitions since 1993, emphasising the presentation of three-dimensional Tapestry, Hand painted ceramic tile panels, Oil paintings and Acrylics on canvas in large significant formats. These are portrayed in several public places and private collections. In the several collective exhibitions, it is of utmost significance to stress its representation in Vienna’s City Hall in Austria, in the Portuguese Embassy located in Brussels, lobby Damião de Gois, in the Regional Government from the Germanic Community, in International Relation Department. Took part in Welfare projects, donating some of her work and organizing auction sales with the ultimate purpose of gathering financial support to the various institutions in need, as for instance; The Portuguese League against Cancer and HIV Carriers, The Feminine Presence Association (O.N.G) and Portugal’s Rotary Club. To what concerns the international field, the focus is placed in three countries ( Italy, Belgium, and Austria). Amongst these countries, it is worth to mention the exhibition incorporated in the Cultural Exchange Project, between the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the German-speaking Region in Belgium, as well as, the exhibition held in Burgenland in Vienna, Austria, also incorporated in a Cultural Exchange Project, entitled “Contact”, between two European regions “Vienna of Austria and Madeira”. Still in Vienna, Austria, one should make reference to the exhibitions in Pandorf, Burgenland, Dorfhalle, where it was presented large format works in acrylic on canvas. Participated recently at the Malta Biennale , and having received a special distinction in painting. Tile exhibition titled "Maria-Mar" developed with a great social and local research emphasis , presented at Casa da Cultura in Camara de Lobos from October 16th through November 2005. In January 2006 made a mixed presentation titled "Porto Seguro" that took place at Tivoli Ocean Park Hotel.
